Tony’s responsibilities as part of the sales team at EMCOR Services Northeast are identifying customer needs and developing accurate project cost estimates and preventive maintenance contracts. Using the latest industry technologies and EMCOR Services Northeast support resources, Tony brings a potential project or contract through the various stages of design, estimating, proposal, implementation, and follow up. Tony is also responsible for meeting with existing customers on a regular basis to discuss upgrade and replacement programs offered by Northeast for older equipment or equipment that is developing a history of costly repairs.
Expertise
Tony has over 45 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Upon graduating from United Association Local 537 Training Center, Tony served on the Local 537 Journeymen Training Committee and sponsored new journeymen courses during his tenure. Gaining valuable experience in both HVAC construction and refrigeration applications, he became a supervisor early in his career and was the youngest foreman assigned to the Logan International Airport control tower major renovation project. From 1978 to 1991, Tony co-owned Metro-Boston Air and Refrigeration and served as vice president of construction and operations. Developing experience in all aspects of the HVAC industry, he took his talents to Better Comfort Systems from 1991 to 1996 serving as their project, sales, and contract manager specializing in industrial and commercial mechanical systems. In 1996, Tony joined the BALCO team as a project representative/estimator. Through the years his responsibilities have broadened to include project design, project and contract estimating, and project and contract sales.
Tony holds a Massachusetts Master Pipefitter license and a Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician license. He is ASHRAE certified for refrigerant reclaiming, OSHA-10 safety certified, and is an active member of the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE). In 2005, he was awarded the EMCOR Diamond Award which is presented each year to EMCOR employees who have exhibited exemplary actions beyond the workplace.
The Personal Side
Tony enjoys spending time with his children, son Anthony and daughter-in-law Donna and grandson Anthony and daughter Atty. Janine Bova-Goldstein, son-in-law Atty. Andrew Goldstein, granddaughter Reagan Elizabeth, and grandson Chaney Alexander.
Tony also enjoys sports and participates in golf, bowling, senior softball, and coaching ice hockey. Since 1980, he has coached and taught ice skating in the Medford Youth Hockey Learn to Skate Program. In 1996, Tony received the Massachusetts Hockey Program Director of the Year Award. In 2002 Medford High School Hockey renamed their MVP award the Tony Bova MVP Award. After the ice skates are put away, Tony enjoys playing softball during his spring Florida vacation prior to the summer senior season.
